In these classes children will explore ways to take a more mindful approach to their world. We will focus on teaching traditional yoga poses, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation techniques in a fun and playful way. Students learn important lessons in self-awareness, self-control, social skills, positive thinking and self- esteem. Each class begins with a group discussion and yoga poses customized to a daily theme. We practice both active and passive poses, helping children find this balance in class can sometimes flow into the other areas of their lives outside of class.

Yoga & Mindfulness for Teens
Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 @ The Center
These classes are designed for students to explore mindfulness through meditation, gentle yoga movement (yin yoga), and dharma talks, (philosophical discussions on topics such as contentment & self-love). This practice will help lower anxiety, decrease stress and increase positive moods and promote self-love. Having a regular mindfulness practice has been shown to help kids make better decisions, improve their emotional regulation, and increased self-esteem, social skills, body image, and communication.
